About us
The Hamilton Dahlia Society is dedicated to assisting fellow gardeners in excelling in growing these beautiful plants. The members enjoy growing these flowers for their beauty and exotic appearance. It is no exaggeration to say that people walking by our gardens stop and marvel at these gorgeous blooms. The HDS hosts a friendly annual competition called the “Show” each September at the Royal Botanical Gardens. We are delighted to announce that we return to the RBG this September 2025 for our show. We usually hold an awards ceremony at a private dinner in November.
Membership Benefits
The society meets in person 2 times a year to exchange and demonstrate our gardening and pruning techniques. We have educational monthly zoom meetings with experts that coincide with jobs to do for the month. Join us for other benefits such as:

Membership renewal!
As another year is finished, it is time to renew your membership for 2025. Those who have joined since August 1st, 2024 do not have to renew as your 2025 membership will be covered by last year's dues.

Bernie and Mike’s great adventure!
Mike and Bernie will discuss their trip last September to the Midwest Dahlia Conference in Indiana. Topics will include: conditioning your plants prior to long distance travel, when to cut, how to navigate a show schedule, etc…

"Ask the Experts!" & Waking up your tubers!
With lots of new members comes lots of new questions! You can either submit questions in advance or in real time to a panel of seasoned growers.

Getting ready for our Fundraising Tuber Sale!
We will discuss our upcoming tuber sale, how to get ready for it if you plan on donating tubers and more.
